Superb pianist and singer Eliane Elias's celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the bossa nova is a gorgeously recorded gem of an album. Her cool, seductive voice is prominently featured and backed by an all-star band led by her husband Marc Johnson. Oscar Castro-Neves is on the guitar, and Toots Thielemans and Ivan Lins appear as guests.

Bass master Ron Carter has been long associated with the bossa nova, since he appeared on Antonio Carlos Jobim's historic album Wave in the 1960s. This very jazzy bossa album features his regular group as well as Javon Jackson on tenor sax.
