New arrival CDs at Eastwind Import
Paolo Di Sabatino Trio / The Sweetest Love
A brand-new release by Japanese label Atelier Sawano: A sweet, gentle and refreshing piano jazz from a nice Italian trio!
Vladimir Shafranov Trio / I'll Close My Eyes
One of my favorite pianists in the world, Russian-born Shafranov teamed up with the Danish super-bassist Jesper Lundgaard for his latest release from Atelier Sawano!
After The Rain / Gaea Schell
Los Angeles-based pianist/vocalist's third CD is a collection of standards (with impressive arrangements) and attractive originals. Her piano trio is augmented by guest saxophonist Chuck Manning and guest bassist Chris Colangelo. Swinging and lyrica!
Fabrizio Bosso / Black Spirit
Top Italian trumpeter's brand-new release, paying tribute to his heroes Freddie Hubbard, Louis Armstrong and Dizzy Gillespie. Hot!
Roberto Gatto Quintet / Remembering Shelly
A very special live album celebrating the music of Shelly Manne and His Men! Veteran drummer Roberto Gatto enlisted the best Italian musicians belonging to a younger generation.
Toshiko Akiyoshi / Solo Live 2004
This CD captures Toshiko Akihoshi shortly after she disbanded her big band after 30years and began concentrating on her piano playing. The fourth solo album in her 60+-year career is undoubtedly the best!
Najponk-George Mraz-Margin Sulk / Night Lights
A wonderfully straight-ahead, swinging and bluesy trio album from the Czech Republic! Najponk (his name "Jan Knop" spelled backwards) shines with great support from bass master George Mraz!

This is Ronm we talked on the phone a little while ago. Interesting choices for the initial releases. IMHO the Moody Blues is the wrong one. Getz/Gilberto s/b a winner have that one in K2HD and its superb and you know how I feel about that format.
